The most important thing to remember is: if you heat the terminal too long, the heat will travel to the voice coil and could damage it. When creating a strong soldered connection, you don’t heat the solder-you slightly heat the terminal, which easily melts the solder. When the solder melts and dries on the terminal and speaker wire, it bonds the wire to the terminal which completes the analog connection.
